Our Ingredients

Tuna

Tuna provides high quality protein to support muscle growth and maintenance; and essential amino acids such as taurine, which cats cannot make enough of it on their own.

Tuna is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 EFAs supports healthy skin and coat and joint health, reduces inflammation and may benefit the cardiovascular and immune system.

Tuna meat is highly palatable.  It has strong aroma and flavor that even picky cats love to eat.

Tuna is high in moisture content.  Wet food made with tuna can prevent dehydration, increase water intake and promote urinary tract health.

Tuna meat is a good source of important vitamins and minerals such as vitamins B12 and D, selenium, phosphorus, and magnesium.

Our tuna meat is certified dolphin-safe, meaning the tuna are caught using fishing methods that are safe to dolphins (no dolphin captured, harmed or killed during the process).

We use skipjack tuna in the cat food.  Skipjack tuna are small and fast growing, they have the least amount of mercury among all tuna species.

Salmon

Salmon provides high quality protein to support muscle growth and maintenance and essential amino acids like taurine, which cats need for heart, eye, reproductive and digestive health.

Salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA. It gives cat healthy skin and shiny coat.  Omega-3 fatty acids also reduce inflammation, support joint health and cognitive function in older cats. They may also support cardiovascular and immune system.

Salmon has strong fishy flavor that many cats love.  Even picky eaters will find salmon irresistible.

Wet cat food with salmon has high moisture content to increase water intake, preventing urinary tract issues like crystals and infections.

Salmon is a good source of vitamin D for bone health and calcium absorption. It contains vitamin B12 for energy metabolism and also important minerals such as selenium and potassium.

Whitebait

Whitebait provides high quality protein to cats.  These small whole fish provide all essential amino acids, including taurine.  Protein is essential for strong muscles, tissue repair and overall energy.

Whitebait is rich in omega-3 fatty acids (EPA & DHA).  Omega-3 fatty acids promote shiny coat and healthy skin, they also reduce inflammation and supports brain and eye development in kittens.

Whitebait is a natural source of calcium, which contributes to strong teeth and bones.  It also provides vitamin D, which helps calcium absorption and bone health.

Whitebait provides micronutrients such as vitamin B12, selenium and iodine.  Vitamin B12 is used for energy metabolism and red blood cell production and function.  Selenium and iodine are important for immune and thyroid function.

Whitebait has fishy aroma and flavor and many cats simply find it irresistible.  Even picky eaters enjoy whitebait in their diet.

Whitebait are small, short-lived fish.  They are low on the food chain and they accumulate far less mercury and heavy metals compared to larger fish.

Crab

Crab meat provides essential amino acids (including taurine) for muscle growth and maintenance.  It is leaner than other fish and meat.

Crab is rich in micronutrients:

  • Zinc: Supports skin / coat health and the immune system.
  • Copper: Helps with red blood cell production and connective tissue health.
  • Selenium: Powerful antioxidant that supports thyroid and immune function.
  • Vitamin B12: Improves nervous system health and energy metabolism.
  • Crab provides omega-3 fatty acids for skin, coat and joint health although its level is not as high as oily fish.

Crab has unique seafood flavor and can stimulate appetite in picky cats.  Real crab meat is a delicacy.  It is not the same as imitation crab meat which is made with fish, starch and seasonings.

Sunflower Seed Oil

Sunflower seed oil is a rich source of linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid).  Cats cannot synthesize omega-6 fats on their own.  Linoleic acid supports healthy skin and helps prevent dryness, flakiness, or dermatitis. It contributes to a soft, glossy coat.

Omega-6 fatty acids are also important in regulating immune responses.

Sunflower seed oil provides easily metabolized dietary fat that fuels daily activity, play, and metabolism.

Taurine

Taurine is one of the most essential nutrients for cats, because unlike many other animals, cats cannot make enough of it on their own. It must come directly from their diet (particularly from animal proteins).

Role of Taurine in Cat Health

🐱

👁️ Vision

Protects the retina, preventing blindness from retinal degeneration.

❤️ Heart

Supports strong cardiac function and prevents dilated cardiomyopathy.

🤰 Reproduction

Essential for healthy pregnancies and kitten development.

🧪 Immune System

Helps regulate cells and protect against oxidative stress.

🍽️ Digestion

Forms bile salts needed for proper fat digestion and nutrient absorption.

Taurine Deficiency Will Lead To:

  • Vision loss/blindness.
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy (weak heart muscle).
  • Reproductive failure and poor kitten growth.
  • General weakness, lethargy, or poor immune function.

Bliss wet cat foods are fortified with taurine to avoid taurine deficiencies.
